Welcome to my page! My name is Akira Cooper, thank you for visiting, please enjoy the art!
I specialize in making art about the most important topic to me, mental health. You may notice that pretty much all of my work has at least something to do with meant health, or is entirety encompassed around it. I truly think that not enough people take mental health seriously, so my art is made to try to force people to at least think about it. If my art has made even one person start to take mental health more seriously, then I have done my job.
I have had an interest with art for as long as I can remember. Every time we had an art project in grade school, I always went all out. As I got older, my appreciation for all types of art has only intensified. Yes, I am taking art seriously in high school because it is a passion of mine, but to be honest, I am taking it seriously because I really need an art scholarship. I come from a family that shopped at goodwill, not because we wanted to, but because we almost had to. I was raised knowing that money is earned, not just given, unlike some people in this world. So when I found out that I can get a scholarship through something like art, my ears perked right up. Now I'm not saying that I'm not smart, but I know I'm not going to get a scholarship based on my academics, so this is really my only chance to get money for school. I hear so many horror stories of how long it takes people to pay off all their debt, I that is not something I want to do. |
If I ever have kids, I want them to know that its important that you can get where you want through childhood hobbies, and that you don't have to have all the money in the world to be happy. So if I where to get a scholarship based on my biggest hobbies, I would not only be so proud of my self, but it would let me know that, not that "anything is possible" because that is cheesy but, it at least doesn't take being a millionaire to get where you want.
